• Click on the Project to add the Spec to.
  • Click on ‘Create New Spec’.
  • Select the appropriate Specification Type from the dropdown.

    This is a category that contains Item Types and will print as a separate spec book.

    Specification Types are set up and managed by a Super Admin in Administration>Client Types / Specification Types CANNOT be modified by any other user level.

    *If you don’t see a Specification Type or Item Type you need, contact your Super Admin.

  • Select the appropriate Item Type from the dropdown.

    The Code that is to the right of the Item Type will most likely appear as part of your Control # in the upper right of the panel.

  • Status Color Dropdown

    Status Colors can be set up to represent phases of the project, revisions or anything else. Once selected, the color will appear on the Item in the Spec Schedule.

  • Control # Fields

    Specsources uses this number as the primary way to recognize this Item.

    There are multiple ways to configure this number. The most common and recommended way is:

    Prefix will represent the Item Type The Prefix Code was set up by a Super Admin in Administration>Item Types.

    Item ID - Any number.

    Format can be anything including leading zeros.

    *This field MUST be numerical.

    Suffix (Optional) – Can be ‘.1’ or ‘.a’ etc.

    The delimiters are set up and managed by Super Admins.

  • Issued Date Calendar

    Click the arrow to the right of the field to open the calendar function. There are three options:

    • Click on a date
    • Click on ‘Clear’ button below.
    • Click ‘Today’ button to highlight the current date and then click on the date.

    The date will appear above.

  • Item Name Text Field

    Enter text here.

    ie. Barcelona Chair

  • Item Price Value Field

    Enter value here.

  • Furnished By / Installed By

    This list is hard coded into SpecWeb and CANNOT be customized.

  • Lead Time Value Field

    Enter value here that indicates the time for this item. Lead Time is in weeks.

  • Issued by Dropdown

    Select a User from the dropdown list. This list is populated from the Designers list.

  • Revised by Dropdown

    Select a User from the dropdown list. This list is populated from the Designers list.

  • Upload Image

    This will open a browsing window where you will be able to add the required Image(PDF).

    *SpecWeb will size all of the images automatically.

  • Click ‘Save’.

Attach Item to a Spec

  • Click on desired Spec.
  • Click ‘Attach’ on the desired tile.
  • Select from the ‘Item Type’ dropdown.
  • Choose from the ‘Upholstery / Attachable Spec Sheet’ list and choose desired Spec.
  • Fill in the ‘Qty Per Item’, ‘Unit Cost’, ‘Cost per Item’, ‘UOM’ (Unit Of Measure), and ‘Instructions’ fields.
  • Click ‘Save’.

Delete a Spec Sheet

Deleting a Spec Sheet will delete it for all users in the entire Project. It cannot be undone.

  • Click on the desired Project.
  • Select Spec to delete and click the trash bin icon to the right. Click ‘Accept’ to delete.
